This includes four years at Macdonald, Shymko & Company Ltd. – a fee-only financial planning company, 12 years at CIBC Wood Gundy and since 2010 with Lycos Asset Management. Since 2014, I have also been teaching at BCIT the course, Securities Fundamentals (FMGT 4620).
My education includes a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in 1990 from EU Business School – a private business school with campuses in Barcelona, Spain; Geneva and Montreux, Switzerland and Munich, Germany. I also have a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from Simon Fraser University in 1989.
My professional designations include the Registered Financial Planner (R.F.P.) in 1995, the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) in 1996 and the Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) in 2005.
My community service includes being the Treasurer of the Burnaby French Language Preschool (2017 to 2019), Director of the Memorial Society of British Columbia (2010 to 2013), and Chairperson of the Parish Education Committee of Saint Francis de Sales Elementary School (2007 to 2008). I am author of the book, “FINANCIAL PLANNING FOR SNOWBIRDS,” published in 2000 by CCH Canadian Limited.
I am married and have two children. I’m an avid movie-goer, enjoy researching my Finn-Swedish ancestry where I’ve gone back 14 generations, love reading the bible, and I’m involved in a Life Group.
